Introduction
In information technology (IT), a system administrator is a person who supports a multi-user computing
environment and ensures continuous, optimal performance of IT services and support systems.
System administrator job responsibilities vary greatly among employers. In a large enterprise, the title system
administrator may be used to describe any administrator who is responsible for a specialised IT system such the
one that supports servers.
Besides that, system administrator also has many other IT-based responsibilities such as Installing, maintaining
and troubleshooting servers, operating systems (OS), creating user accounts and assigning user permissions and
setting up company’s website as example.
As a System Administration and Maintenance student, we are assigned to install and configure an open source
operating system, internet server and content management system (CMS) as part of our lesson. This report
consists of all of our documentation regarding the installation and configuration that is printed directly from
PmWiki site.
